Woodville Town Hall is a key cultural hub in Western Adelaide hosting live music, arts, and community events. Originally built in 1903 as council offices and chambers, the hall section began operating as a picture theatre in 1927 with a total capacity of 1500. Accessible parking spaces are available - 2 in the carpark behind the venue and 2 in the carpark across Woodville Road. Parking is also available immediately in front of the venue.
History
Built in 1903 as council offices and chambers, it was enlarged in the 1920s with a supper room and again in the 1940s. The hall section opened as a picture theatre in 1927 with 1500 capacity and featured a suburban orchestra of nine musicians. It operated as a cinema until 9 November 1974. In 2011, it underwent extensive renovations including installation of a lift and hearing loop, and in 2013 a new audio-visual system was installed.
